Egor has over 10 years of experience with both acoustic and electric guitar. As the frontman of the rock band Autonomous Apes, he’s performed more than 100 shows across British Columbia and Alberta. His strength isn’t just in technique it’s in helping students grow into confident performers and storytellers. Right now, Egor is completing his degree in Arts Performance and Cinema Studies at SFU, combining academic insight with real-world stage experience.
Arto picked up his first guitar back in 2004, and he hasn’t put it down since. Over the years, he has performed in a variety of settings, sometimes with bands and occasionally solo, sharing stages with well-known acts such as Parokya ni Edgar, Urbandub, Kamikazee, and The Itchyworms. What he loves most, though, is teaching. Arto’s students don’t just learn to play notes; they learn to feel the music, understand how it works, and even create their own pieces. Every lesson is designed to help each student discover their own musical voice and confidence, whether they’re just starting or seeking to develop their skills further.
